County Clare

Hello.  I just got back from a 3 day geology field trip up to County Clare.  It was awesome.  We were on the atlantic the whole time with good weather for the mot part.  We were looking at huge turbadite (massive underwater sand avalanches) deposits as well as an ancient mississippi-esk delta system.  It was really neat.  These deposits are the analog for a bunch of the oil in the Gulf of Mexico (maybe not so cool), but the rocks were superb.
